HOW THE SPANIARDS WORKS

We hire the Spaniards to you on an exclusive basis: the function room, kitchen, bar and accommodation are yours for the duration of your stay. Think of it as hiring a holiday cottage - just on a much larger scale!

The Spaniards can be hired either for a weekend booking - from Friday to Monday, or through the week - from Monday to Friday. You can arrive anytime from 3pm, and checkout is 10am.

Most people elect to have the have the wedding ceremony, reception and the evening entertainment in the Riverside Suite, and the room can easily be adapted to fulfil all these roles.

The Spaniards comfortably sleeps 20 guests in six rooms, one of which is our luxury bridal suite with balcony and stunning river views. There are rooms for many more accommodated at our sister pub - The Crooked Inn - www.crooked-inn.co.uk

We have a wealth of experience and a fantastic team at the Spainiards, and have worked with many couples in achieving their dream wedding. We can help you as little, or as much, as you wish.

Day 1 Monday or Friday
Arrive at around 3.00 p.m.
A member of the Spaniards team will welcome you and show you in. They'll show you around and make sure you know how the practical side of things work (kitchen, bar, where the light switches are(!) etc). Once this is done, you'll be left to get settled in - maybe take time out for a coffee or a stroll along the river, or have all your friends and family around for a pre wedding dinner.

Day 2
This is likely to be your wedding day!
A member of the team can come down in the morning to ensure that everything is running smoothly and help out where required. Your caterers will arrive and get started in the kitchen, and you'll need to think about getting your champagne in the fridge!

Your guests will arrive. Maybe you'll receive them with a drink on the balcony, or in the bar - if you're having a winter wedding, then maybe a glass of mulled wine by the open-fire.

The registrar arrives about half an hour before your ceremony to conduct interviews - a member of the Spaniards team will arrive as the 'responsible representative' of the Spaniards.

From here on it's up to you, but most couples elect to have the ceremony in the Riverside Suite, which is then prepared for your wedding breakfast while you are having drinks and photographs.

Once your speeches and meal are over, tables can be cleared in preparation for your evening's entertainment. In general discos can go on until 12.00am, and live-bands can play until 11.30pm. If you want to have quieter music when your guests have left this is, of course, fine.

Day 3
Your day to relax!

Why not take a long walk along the banks of the estuary, or head to the beach? You could also think about being collected on a chartered yacht or speedboat from the Spaniards, and heading off down the estuary towards Plymouth for the day.

The Spaniards is yours to help you make the most of all day - maybe a barbecue for friends and family in the evening?

Day 4
Unfortunately this is leaving day. A member of the Spaniards team will come and check that everything is fine and collect the keys.

It's time for you to begin reflecting on your stay, look at your pictures, and re-live the magical time spent that was your Spaniards wedding.
